And on August 16th 2017, we performed our first live ritual at Best Friend Bar in Lexington, Ky. So in Summer 2017 we started practicing, re-shaping the songs from Arrival Of Death, and also writing some new unholy opuses. Bulgor is a family member of mine, which we had played in a couple of punk rock bands before Brood In Black. So, after some thought, and also being asked about playing live, I reached out to Bulgor for help, which he accepted. And to my surprise, it started getting some online reviews and also mail-order sales. I hadn't planned to do that, but for some reason I did, just to see if anyone would enjoy these blasphemies. So in Winter 2016/2017, after recording numerous demos, and assembling the first demo Arrival Of Death, I decided to release it to the public, online and thru mail-order. So a one-man black metal live ritual was kind of impossible, unless I were to play guitar and sing along with some previously recorded tracks, which would make the live rituals less organic. I had always wanted to play this kind of music to a live audience, to perform live rituals to the masses. Hence the name Brood In Black.ĥ.Originally the band was a solo project, what was the decision behind expanding into a duo?ĥ. When you hear the name Brood In Black, you could almost imagine a black mass.with everyone in their ritual cloaks and robes, all in black. It just felt right, the name sent chills up my spine, in a good way.

At that point, I imagined a full line-up band, fully cloaked, performing a ritual, like at a black mass. And of course, The Brood was on there, but I wanted to make this project more dark, more black, and in hopes that this project would turn into a band, I added In Black to the end of The Brood. Until years later, in 2015, I dug up the old tapes, and decided to perform necromancy on this project. In which, I decided instead of The Brood, because by this point, there were 10 other bands called that online, started writing down names. So with the disappointment with having this one-man project wither away, I put this project into the crypts, to never be seen again. No band, no shows, no demos released, no online presence, nothing. And this project lasted until 2010, as it was solely a one-man project. I wrote until 2007, when I finally purchased a Tascam Portastudio 4-track recorder, and started recording all of these songs that I had written by myself since 2005. I started writing music like this, in which at that point, it was simply called The Brood. The name Brood In Black actually derived from when I started writing black metal/thrash/punk, from back in 2005. But all in all, it mostly revolves around The Infernal One below, Satanas.Ĥ.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Brood In Black'?Ĥ. I also write from a fable point of view, making characters, derived from demonology, mythology, and composing fables. It's whatever I feel that works with the music, as well. My interpretations and opinions of things as well, such as stories from the Bible or Christianity, religious mockery, Also, sometimes I write in a third-person point of view. My lyrics usually consist of anti-Christianity themes, Demonology ,Mythology, the Occult, Blasphemy, Death, and the darkness that revolves it, and of course, Satan. Raw, lo-fi, uncompromising, Black Fucking Metal!ģ.Can you tell us a little bit more about the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored with your music?ģ.
